A very nice one . . Everybody except Riens awake just in time to witness the sunrise just outside our tent . . . We a had some heavy wind last night so everything is sandy :) . . .

The road conditions . . .

Here in Marrakech even worse than inland . . .

About last night . . .

I knew it was going to be a close call to arrive to my destination in Marrakech before dark but i was hoping for good fortune . . . I was wrong cul luckily it was only the last 20 kilometers that were a disaster . . . What i saw is hard to put in words, but imagine this: a dark road with two narrow lanes, trucks dashing by at 100km per hour with only the small lights on, people on bikes on the edge of the surfaced road without lights of course, men waking on the unsurfaced path just next to the road in dark clothing sometimes even crossing the road, a horse and carriage going at 5 km an hour and to top it off busses that are overtaking slower traffic to make sure they keep their schedule . . . What you have is a recipe for disaster and one of the highest rates of mortal car accidents in the world . . . Or a crossroad where the old and new collide . . . . Even now at daylight i'm sitting in a small cafe next to the road and witness breathtaking manoeuvers of bikes , carriages and cars . . . I feel a bit strange in this rather busy area after having travelled for about two weeks in relative calm, but looking forward to the peace and quiet of the dessert with the family . . . Two more hours to go . . .

A change . . .

From the more rough edges of small hotels and a more rough nature i've parked the bike at the place we are going to stay after the dessert trip . . . . Quite different place, more like a spa or talasso . . . The place is wonderfull and the rooms are like palaces . . . . That will be a change . . . Although i'm not sure i'm up for it yet . . . Today the kids and Agnes arrive :) . . . Will take it easy till than . . .

Today did a lot of unsurfaced tracks along the coast . . Very difficult due to the sand, but i enjoyed every minute of it . . . Tomorrow of to Marakech . . . And then the whole family together :) . . .
